It’s been so long since I have updated my blog simply because my life has been so hectic and I really have not had any time to write. Well, that is not strictly true, I have written lots: essays for university, wedding to do lists and I have filled notepads with poetry and other creative writing.
I feel so bad that my blog has been pushed to the sidelines of my life as I love this little corner of the internet that I call my own. But the fact of the matter is, things are going on in my life that have to take priority. Our wedding date is soon approaching and we have been sorting the last details out. It has been such an exciting experience and we have both been very hands on. We have chosen every element of our wedding ourselves; the venue, the marquee company, the caterers etc. I designed our wedding invitations (which have yet to go out, eek!). It has been stressful but it will be so worth it on July 1st when we see it all come together. I am so incredibly lucky to be marrying someone so wonderful and knows me so well.
Other than the wedding planning, university has been going very well but also is extremely busy. My anxiety still prevents me from going to lectures but I have kept up to date with the work at home and have successfully managed to meet all deadlines. I am still working up on campus and I absolutely adore my work family. Work has been a real life line for me and I honestly believe it has kept me sane.
Work, university, having friends and family on the doorstep has changed my life in ways I cannot describe. Simple things like picking up my sister from school, having a weekly catch up lunch with my oldest friend and having beautiful countryside walks on the doorstep have allowed me to create a healthier routine than my life in London.
My mental health did take a dip over winter, like usual. But unlike before, it has not knocked me off my feet. I embraced the challenges that I faced and I won. I can honestly say, I am the happiest I have ever been. I am the most content. I love the direction of my life. I know that the people I have surrounding me are the best of the best. People who support me, people who know me and who only want what is best for me. They have proved this time and time again.
This has been a bit of a random update but I just wanted to explain where I have been and why I haven’t found time to post. I am hoping to start posting a bit more frequently from now on but I am not sure how often. It will definitely pick up once the wedding is over. I am planning to write a femivision post about the fantastic show “13 Reasons Why” within the next few weeks (If you haven’t watched it, you should!). In the meantime, I post everyday on my instagram account. Feel free to follow me there 🙂
Until next time…
